7 Ways to Keep Home Projects Cheap

Without further ado-The List of 7 Ways to Keep Home Projects Cheap

  1. Reuse items in unique ways*
  2. Shop your house first. For example: Need organizing bins? How many baskets can you come up with.
  3. Use up old paint instead of buying new – combine colors for a custom effect
  4. Search for free stuff on Craigslist, Offerup, FB Marketplace, the side of the road, etc
  5. Spend the money on the better material so you’re not doing the same project again in 5 years, costing you essentially double
  6. Obtain items from estate sales or yard sales. Rather than buy new, look for what’s already been purchased by someone else!
  7. Checkout Reuse stores. Stores like ReStore Habitat for Humanity, ReBuild, ReUse, SCRAP, etc sell items from construction houses and you can score on trim, paint, light fixtures and usually almost any cupboard handle you can think of.

There’s lots more ways to keep the cost down so you can keep your lights on and still enjoy your home! Like my cheap home kitchen project, see my kitchen tile job articles. Just remember:

It doesn’t have to all be done right now, move forward a little at a time.

Progress over Perfection.
